For over 65 years, The Brown Group has fine-tuned the art of developing master planned communities. The array of talent and decades of experience that the Company has in the land development business, allows them to realize the needs of investors, builders, new homebuyers and community. The Brown Group of Companies has a long history of purchasing large tracts of raw land and creating fully integrated communities. Over the years, the Company has transformed thousands of acres of land into some of the most desirable residential communities. Furthermore, it has brought enduring value to each development.


The Brown Group of Companies is currently involved in the development of several hundred acres of land throughout the Greater Toronto Area. New communities, which are currently under development, include the newest neighbourhoods in Richmond Hill, Barrie, Kitchener, Milton, Markham, Sharon, Queensville, Georgetown and Whitby. These lands will eventually be subdivided into houses, schools, parks, and commercial plazas for thousands of families to enjoy!


One of the City's most successful projects to date is 'Inspiration' in Richmond Hill. The Brown Group of Companies is the managing developer behind this large, master-planned community. A site that boasts as being one of Richmond Hill's largest and most successful subdivisions, 'Inspiration' is a beautifully planned community of houses, parks, schools, recreational facilities, and commercial space.


An urban builder, The Brown Group of Companies is responsible for the design and construction of many unique, innovative and livable communities throughout the City, including a 48-unit live-work loft/condominium project in Downtown Toronto and a 300-unit mid-rise project in North York. Internationally, the company has built a 220-unit, luxury ocean front condominium building in Miami, Florida. The Brown Group of Companies is actively involved in the planning, development and construction of a further 600 high-rise units throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

 

PRINCIPALS


Sam Brown - Sam founded the company in the early 1950's and has been involved in property management, construction and development since that time. He has extensive knowledge of the property management industry and has been involved in every type of property management including Apartments, Condominiums, Townhomes, Single Family Homes, Commercial Office Buildings, Industrial Units, Retail Shopping Centres, Farm Properties, and Recreational Facilities.


Melvin Brown, B.A. LL.B. - Mel is a real estate lawyer who currently runs all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the company. He has been involved in the management of the company since the mid 1970's, when he became a lawyer. He has extensive knowledge of the property management business through many years of experience. Mel is a former Director of the Greater Toronto Apartment Association.


Jay Brown, B.Sc. MBA - Jay joined the company in 2001. Since then, he has been actively involved in both the maintenance and the administration of the properties managed by Brown Management. Jay works closely with Engineers, Architects, Consultants and other specialists to ensure all managed properties are reaching their highest level of potential profitability over the long run. He is actively involved with the Greater Toronto Apartment Association.


Jeffrey Cukier, CGA - Jeff joined the company in 2004 as the Corporate Controller. Prior to being the Controller, Jeff was employed by a property management company that managed Condominium, Commercial, Residential and Industrial properties.
